BUSINESSMED talks about its projects and future orientations during an EESC webinar
BUSINESSMED took part on June 3, 2021 in the virtual hearing organized by European Economic and Social Council on their opinion on the joint communication of the EU “A renewed partnership with the southern neighborhood - A new agenda for the Mediterranean”.
Indeed, in order to relaunch and strengthen the strategic partnership between the European Union and its partners in the Southern Neighbourhood, the European Commission and the High Representative have adopted an ambitious and innovative new Agenda for the Mediterranean.
The new agenda will guide the EU’s policy towards the region and the multi-annual programming around five areas of action: Human development, good governance and the rule of law, Resilience, prosperity and digital transition, Peace and security, Migration and mobility and finally the Ecological transition: climate resilience, energy and environment.
Speaking at the third session dealing with the “Economic and Investment Plan for the Southern Neighbors”, Ms. JihenBoutiba, Secretary General of the organization recalled how the actions carried out under the projects EBSOMED, SOLiD, Investmed and Creative Mediterranean are in line with the following flagships of the EU:
- I.P. N°1- Support to social sectors, education and health
- I.P. N°2- Human rights
- I.P. No. 3 - Resilient economies
- I.P. No. 5- Connected economies
- I.P. N°6- Inclusive economies
- I.P. N°7- Digital transformation, research and innovation
- I.P. N°8- Migration
- I.P. N°9- Green growth and climate action
A document will be proposed to the European Commission developing the joint contribution of the different social partners
