BUSINESSMED, represented by its President, Mrs Saida Neghza, participated in the Fourth High Level Conference of the UfM "Women for the Mediterranean: Building Inclusive Societies", which took part on October 10th, 2018 in Lisbon, an event that was co-organized by the Portuguese Government and the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM).

The conference provided an update on progress made by UfM Member States one year after the adoption of an ambitious ministerial declaration to promote gender equality in all spheres of society.

Mrs Neghza presented the role of BUSINESSMED as a Mediterranean employers' organisation working to strengthen the participation of women in economic life through the management of projects focused in part on the socio-economic empowerment of women and young Entrepreneurs such as the EBSOMED project.

She recalled that this is a four-year project co-funded by the European Commission and coordinated by BUSINNESMED it aims to stimulate the business environment in the Mediterranean region and to promote the economic growth of companies in the countries from the southern shore of the Mediterranean.
