EUROMED Invest project is dedicated to the promotion of business and private investments in the Euro-Mediterranean area by fostering an inclusive economic development of the region. Indeed, this project aims to support business networks and investment in the strategy implementation to support the creation and the international development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
The project was set up by the MedAlliance consortium to which Businessmed belongs, and it is coordinated by the Anima Investment Network.
Funded by the European Union, the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Region, the City of Marseille and the Med Alliance consortium with a budget of 5 million Euros, EUROMED Invest plans to hold more than 125 actions in 26 countries during 3 years (from December 2013 to December 2016).
As for the aimed sectors, EUROMED Invest targets five promising sectors in terms of job creation and economic benefits for the Mediterranean Region:
- Agri-food
- Water and renewable energy
- Tourism
- Transport and logistics
- Cultural and creative industries
In addition, the project targets public and private organizations, business associations in Europe, in the countries of the southern Mediterranean and the candidate countries for the European Union: investment promotion agencies, chambers of commerce and industry, clusters, business organizations and entrepreneurs, funders, private and public investors, SME development agencies, etc.
