Colloquium « Sea Green Economy for the Mediterranean »
BUSINESSMED participated on 28 March 2019 in the colloquium "Sea Green Economy for the Mediterranean: A valuable asset for Youth and its employability", organized within the framework of the project HOMERe in Civitavecchia in Italy.
The colloquium proposed to show in concrete terms the challenges of the Blue Economy in terms of youth employment and sustainable development through the speeches of speakers from more than 10 Mediterranean countries.
The various exchanges and interventions supported the following conclusion: Mediterranean youth need to believe in their future without all the frustration related to the lack of jobs and to believe in the future of the Region. It is necessary to make him discover the expectations of the economic world with training allowing him to integrate with the trades of the sea resolutely engaged for a sustainable maritime economy called «Blue Economy». The trades of the sea are very varied and represent a growth potential often underestimated especially by young people in research for jobs.
The discussions also aimed to establish concrete objectives to promote the employability of youth, which will be submitted to the Heads of States and Governments for the preparation of the Sommet des Deux Rives (Summit of the Two Shores) scheduled for June 2019.
