Speaking through a video projected during the opening session, Ms. Jihen Boutiba Secretary General of the organization mentioned:

“CSR can play a concrete role in the functioning of SMEs after the crisis. Eventually, it should be part of the strategic thinking of the company and be considered, as part of the social policy and especially the policy of sustainable development and as part of the social challenges , which is why companies are adopting more and more sustainable consumption and production models “... “In the Mediterranean region, we have observed that companies from all sectors are joining the solidarity movement to face the crisis, however, a clear misunderstanding has forced companies and entrepreneurs for years to consider CSR as a mere set of charity initiatives, obscuring the real objectives of the approach. Therefore, additional efforts must be made to push companies to implement actions that encompass CSR standards throughout the process...In this context, BUSINESSMED, as the main representative of the private sector, takes this issue very seriously and we are working on several actions to promote the concept in the Mediterranean region.”
