BUSNISSMED co-organizes the Annual Conference of the HOMERe Project
The 2019 Annual Conference of the HOMERe project "Employment and Employability: Adequacy to the Mediterranean Labour Market", an event co-organised by BUSINESSMED and labelled "Sommet des Deux Rives" (Summit of the Two Shores), was held on 21 June 2019 in Marseille.
The Annual Conference of this internship programme, which was accredited by the 43 Member States of the Union for the Mediterranean in December 2014, brought together some 100 academic representatives, social, economic and institutional issues on both sides of the Mediterranean that have exchanged innovative practices and formulated concrete recommendations on the themes of regional integration, job creation, and skills shortages. Speakers also stressed the need to breathe new life into the Mediterranean employability policy.
The round tables allowed in particular the expression of the specific expectations of the socio-economic world and in particular of SMEs regarding youth employability and their points of views on concrete solutions for improvement, such as the development of training that combines theory and practice, the creation of start-up incubators in universities or mentoring.
The conclusions and recommendations made during the conference will be forwarded to the French Presidency of the "Sommet des Deux Rives" (Summit of the Two Shores) scheduled for 23 and 24 June 2019 in Marseille.
