The Union of Mediterranean Confederations of Enterprises BUSINESSMED, participated in the 10th anniversary of the OTI-HOMERe Network: Internship abroad for a better employability in the Mediterranean. The event was organized on May 4th, 2018 in Rabat at the Faculty of Sciences, Mohammed V University of Rabat , Morocco by the HOMERe consortium with the support of the Ministry of National Education, Vocational Training, Higher Education and Scientific Research of Morocco.

This day of exchange brought together companies, Euro-Mediterranean universities and local authorities on the internship as the main vector for employment in the Mediterranean.

The first roundtable brought together young people who benefited from the HOMERe project and OTI trainees to share their experiences with students and entrepreneurs, followed by a second roundtable dealing with the point of view of Mediterranean companies vis-à-vis internship and youth recruitment. The third roundtable highlighted the commitments and expectations of local authorities in terms of economic development via the internship at the international HOMERe program.

Madam Jihen Boutiba, BUSINESSMED’s Secretary General concluded the day by stressing on the main challenges of employment, employability and integration of young people, highlighting the need to pool the efforts of actors and actresses of the world. ecosystem (Governments, Universities, Local Authorities, Companies …) to build the future of the Mediterranean.
